Network of Women at The Metropolitan Police

Network of Women

Network of Women is a forward focussed peer group, made up of both women and men from across the Met. It will look at positive development, growth and confidence building, through sharing knowledge and experiences.

The Network of Women will run workshops and programmes to develop confidence and skills to enable people to successfully apply for promotion or lateral development opportunities. Here’s all you need to know.

How does it work?

Network of Women will work with commands to assist in encouraging women to join when they’ve historically struggled to recruit. It’ll provide workshops, networking and mentoring to increase the representation of women across the organisation.

The Network of Women (NoW) has been set up to:

  • Recruit - Provide information and support to women to achieve greater gender diversity in areas of the organisation that historically have struggled to recruit 
  • Retain - Understand and act upon the reasons women leave specific units, as well as the organisation as a whole
  • Raise - Provide development workshops, networking and mentoring to increase the representation of women across the organisation

 NoW offers the following services to its members: 

  • Monthly development workshops
  • Mentoring projects
  • Information about recruitment events
  • Annual NoW events with talks, lectures and workshops
  • Peer support 
  • Working with other Met staff associations to build a more inclusive organisation
