The City Mental Health Alliance has awarded BNY Mellon with the accreditation mark of ‘Excelling’ in its annual Thriving at Work assessment.
The CMHA’s Thriving at Work assessment helps organisations to measure their progress as they work to build mentally healthy workplaces. It is based on the evidence-based standards set out in the CMHA’s Thriving at Work Guide for organisations to work towards in developing their mental health and wellbeing strategies. This year, the Standards were updated to introduce the integration of mental health across the employee lifecycle, driving best practice across the ecosystem, for example through supplier engagement and a stronger focus on inclusion and diversity.
We have provided tools, policies and guides that support employee wellbeing, mental health and resilience, including manager guides, training courses and tips, the MeQuilibrium wellbeing app and a new policy, 2 Weeks Work From Anywhere, where colleagues can choose to work from over 20 jurisdictions where BNY Mellon has a presence, each year, subject to certain jurisdictional requirements. This is designed to further enhance our hybrid model.

Creating a culture of mental health empathy, support and day-to-day wellness is how Yinka lives our values at BNY Mellon as a Mental Health First Aid Responder for employees in need of well-being resources and connectedness.

One that's particularly noteworthy is our Global Mental Health First Aid Champions Program. This is a program where we have trained employees across BNY Mellon to be able to support colleagues around the world who may need assistance from a mental health standpoint.
It's really about creating a culture where there's empathy, there's recognition, there's a place that people feel that they can go to if they are struggling in their day-to-day roles. All these activities are really intended to keep the conversation going."
