Open Mind Network

We have evolved our approach in our support of Mental Health and Wellbeing of our people through our employee network – Open Mind.

The Open Mind network promotes the message that it’s OK not to be OK. They challenge the workplace stigma surrounding mental health and make it easier for those who need help to feel comfortable asking for it. Whatever your situation, whatever your challenge, Open Mind will ensure you always have someone to talk to and give you confidence that there is always help available.

The network welcomes allies across the business, whether you’ve been personally affected by Mental Health or would like to support the network and simply get involved.

Each year we support and celebrate Mental health awareness week with a variety of activities including a key note event with a guest speaker in London.

A team of QBE employees have been trained as Mental Health First Aiders to provide confidential initial support and reassurance and to sign post colleagues towards professional help to prevent mental health developing into a more serious state. They are our employee’s go-to people for anyone feeling stressed, anxious or worried about their own or others mental health or wellbeing.

At QBE, we are proud to be partnered with Headspace, a mindfulness app, and offer our employees a free annual subscription. Mindfulness has been shown to help people stress less, focus more and sleep better. Headspace is mindfulness made simple. You can learn to live mindfully in just a few minutes a day.
