Menopause Policy at Resource Solutions

Resource Solutions  aims to support all staff experiencing menopausal symptoms and help colleagues and line managers understand how they can support employees experiencing such symptoms.

Reasonable adjustments

We strive to achieve a comfortable working environment for all colleagues. For those experiencing menopausal symptoms, small adjustments to the working day can make a big difference.

We recognise that flexibility is key to anyone suffering as a result of transitioning through the menopause and we aim to facilitate flexible working where possible.

Some employees may require a more temporary/flexible change to their working environment. These changes may include;

  •  More breaks and time away from the computer
  •  Flexible approach to remote working
  •  Earlier start and finish times to avoid peak times when travelling in to the office
  •  A request to reduce working hours on a temporary basis
  •  Turning their camera off when on Teams calls

Sickness/Paid leave

An employee may feel unwell and unable to work due to menopausal symptoms. The employee should inform their line manager if this is the case and follow the correct absence reporting procedures as detailed in our Sickness Absence Policy.

 General support

  • We aim to facilitate an open and understanding working environment. Employees are encouraged to inform their line manager that they are experiencing menopausal symptoms at an early stage to ensure the necessary support is made available to support their individual needs.
  • Employees who do not wish to discuss the issue with their direct line manager may find it helpful to have an initial discussion with a trusted colleague, a member of their HR team, wellbeing Champion (the full list can be found on Workplace), The Employee Assistance Programme, accessed on their website

Medical support

  • We encourage employees to speak to their GP when they are experiencing symptoms. The virtual health service, Vitality GP, offers access to a GP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to those employees who are entitled to the private medical insurance benefit through Vitality.
