Linking Generations at Aon

We are entering a period where, for the first time there are four distinct 'generations' in the workplace: Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y (aka Millennials), Generation Z. Yet demographics show us that there is also a predicted workforce deficit of 2.5million over the next 10-15 years. This provides tensions and challenges for both Aon and ourselves as individuals.

Linking Generations focuses on three key areas:

1. Early Career
2. Late Career
3. Exploring Generational Differences

By bringing the Aon UK Link early careers group into the Aon diversity framework and giving them access to the Diversity Council, we will amplify the work they are already doing.

By looking at how we support colleagues considering their retirement and pensions options, we can optimise succession-planning, improve knowledge sharing, organisational resilience and assist colleagues in their transition.

By exploring specific scenarios that older colleagues are likely to encounter, we can signpost guidance, support and where applicable, policy. Recognising these scenarios can improve colleague’s capability of discussing the situation with their line manager and also support line managers with guidance documents.
