LGBT Initiatives at the Financial Conduct Authority

We're creating a diverse and inclusive place to work where people from our LGBT+ community can come into the office each day knowing they can be themselves. This is an important part of life here as we know our differences make us stronger and a more effective regulator. Being diverse and inclusive is a sign of success and means our people feel their experiences and perspectives are listened to. And, importantly, they feel respected by everyone around them, no matter their level or position.

InsideOUT, our LGBT+ network group continues to foster an environment where lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender employees have the confidence and support to be themselves at work. In 2016/7, 94% of LGBT+ employees responded in a recent employee survey that they believe the FCA treats its employees fairly, regardless of sexual orientation.

Key recent successes include:

  • Celebrating LGBT+ History month 2018 with a range of exciting events for everyone in the FCA to take part.
  • We published our Trans Inclusion policy and made relevant updates to our HR processes and policies in 2017
  • InsideOUT launched a mentoring scheme in partnership with OUTStanding.
