About Building Pride
The Building Pride Business Network (Building Pride) is the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) and Ally employee resource group within JLL. An Ally is a non-LGBT person who supports and stands up for the rights of the LGBT community. We are a resource for all employees, (from senior executives to new hires) to discuss and learn about the challenges and opportunities that impact members of the LGBT community.
With multiple regional hubs across the U.S, membership has grown more than 130% since Building Pride began in 2012. Each year we’ve continued to grow and expand in our efforts to better serve our members. We offer national and local programming that includes panel discussions, training and development, community activities, and networking opportunities. Some of our signature events include nationally coordinated efforts for Pride month and providing learning opportunities on topics such as “Transgender Issues in the Workplace” or “Having the Conversation,” which occurred across offices in New York City, Chicago, Orlando, and Atlanta.
We’ve also establised a successful mentoring program. We’re proud participants in Out and Equal and the NGLCC sourcing conference. We’re involved in advocacy efforts including the Global transgender transition policy, HRC Global Business Coalition and participating in the Day of Silence Panel. We work to encourage LGBT friendly company polices, create inclusive work environments throughout our offices and raise awareness about the LGBT community. Through our efforts and partnerships with other JLL ERGs we continue to support the overall Diversity and Inclusion efforts at JLL.
