PRISM, BNY Mellon’s LGBT+ employee resource group, promotes an open and supportive environment for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBT+) employees and their allies.
LGBT+ Advocacy – True to our belief in diversity, inclusion and equality and continued staunch public support of LGBT+ equality, BNY Mellon signed a corporate amicus brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court in support of extending federal anti-discrimination protections to LGBT+ workers. We also signed the Business Statement for Transgender Equality and the United Nations Office of Human Rights LGBTI Standards of Conduct for Business to encourage faster global progress toward equality, among other open letters and public commitments. In further support of inclusion and equality across gender identities and expression, we introduced a suite of BNY Mellon resources – Transgender Guidelines: Gender Transition, Identity and Expression – to assist employees in our APAC, EMEA and U.S. regions undergoing or planning gender transition and to help managers and employees better engage with and support transgender or transsexual colleagues.
