We strongly value and promote the diverse skillsets at AGCS. There are many ways for employees to drive their own development. As a company we actively support managerial and expert careers. Therefore we have defined career paths for all our functions and lines of business in AGCS, from actuarial to underwriting.

We invest in our employees by developing their technical/functional skills, general skills and managerial capabilities to sustain the success of our company. To do so we offer on-the-job development activities to our employees in their current roles such as job swap or job shadowing.

Our employees who want to gain many different insights are supported by job rotations and lateral moves to another function or department.   

Global Academy

The Global Academy is our core learning institute which provides learning offerings to our employees. Our Learning Hubs are set up throughout the world (US, Singapore, France, UK, Germany) and our offerings are globally aligned to ensure that all our employees have the opportunity to develop their skills concerning their level of experience, career path or location.

We cover a variety of trainings ranging from communication skills, commercial skills, self-management to leadership trainings addressing our employees’ development needs. Our employees have access to an individual learning experience @AGCS!

Underwriting Academy

AGCS Underwriting Academy (UWA) runs a training program for AGCS staff worldwide so that our underwriters and staff can maintain and develop their market-leading expertise considering the more increasingly complex global underwriting environment which requires continual professional development to address emerging risks, growing natural catastrophe claims and other new challenges.

AGCS Leadership transition programs for Experts and Managers – running since 2011

What are they?

  • Development/assessment programs to support employees transitioning to more senior graded leadership roles – either people leadership or expert leadership roles.

  • There are two levels of transition programs: 1) development program for managers and experts and 2) assessment program for top experts or executive managers.

  • They are both designed to support and assist future managers and experts in building business-relevant skills and an aligned strategic vision of AGCS/Allianz Re.

AGCS Global Talent Development Program – running since 2011

What is it?

The Global Talent Development Program is in place for mobile employees from customer-facing functions (e.g. Underwriting, Claims, Risk consulting, Market Management, Operations) and other functions(e.g. Finance, project management and IT).  It is a two-year program developing international and cross-functional skills.
