Disability Staff Network at Camden and Islington NHS Trust

The Disability Staff Network is exploring partnership working with: 

Disability Rights UK is the leading charity of its kind in the UK. It is run by and for people with lived experience of disability or health conditions. 

C&I Disability Staff Network will be focusing on working with the Trust to:

•  Develop Trust  inclusion policies, including Equality Impact Analysis
•  Support the Trust to move to the next level of the Disability   Confident Scheme
•   Support staff in their working lives, including workplace adjustments
•  Raise awareness of “invisible disabilities” 
• Promote awareness of equality and inclusion for service users  within the Trust 
•   Improve support available to managers, to help with   understanding what it is like to live with a disability/long term health condition

Membership is open to any staff member, volunteer and people on Local Authority Secondment. You may  also be a member  - if you are a colleague who is a carer or have a friend or family member with a disability.

Events we have run:

Jan 2019: Disability Workshop – Supporting Our Disabled+ Workforce. The Disability+ Staff Network  invited colleagues to the Supporting  Disabled+ Workforce Event, with a Government Department guest speaker. Collegues were invited to come and learn about; the new Supporting Staff with Disabilities and Long Term Conditions Guide; What is meant by ‘Disability and Long Term Health Conditions’; Workplace Adjustments; The government funded Access to Work Scheme.
