Disability Initiatives at HMRC

HMRC aims to make sure that disabled jobholders have:

  • Access to a full range of jobs
  • The same opportunities as others to develop full and rewarding careers

We are fully signed up to the social model of disability. We work hard to provide an accessible and inclusive environment for all. This includes:

  • Consulting disabled colleagues about changes at work
  • Making our buildings accessible
  • Providing a Staff Disability Network that offers information and support
  • Providing reasonable adjustments, at all stages of employment
  • Raising awareness of the impact of different conditions and impairments at work and the steps managers and colleagues can take to remove barriers
  • Writing our documents and other materials in accessible formats

Encouraging disabled colleagues to agree a Workplace Adjustment Passport that sets out their reasonable adjustments.
