Disability Inclusion Working Group at Plan International

With the aim of enhancing knowledge and capacity on disability inclusion within the organisation, the Disability Inclusion Working Group was set up in November, 2011. Since then, the group has organised Plan International’s first disability inclusion conference with 50 participants from across Plan International (October 2012), developed a series of factsheets and other resources on disability, and represented Plan International at the UN Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. The group facilitated Plan Membership in IDDC (International Disability and Development Consortium) in May 2012. The group has also contributed actively to an Inclusion Review process and the development of an internal course on Tackling Exclusion.
