Dignity at Work Network at York St John University

The University is committed to ensuring a working and learning environment in which the dignity of individuals is respected. It aims to ensure that the relationship between the University and its employees is conducted in a manner which values, unconditionally, a respect for the dignity of staff.

One of the core values at York St John University, is the requirement to treat all people with dignity and respect at work. Bullying and harassment of any kind are in no-one’s interest and should not be tolerated in the workplace.

As part of our commitment to creating a work environment in which everyone feels valued and respected, we have re-launched the Dignity and Respect Network. Our Network members are trained volunteers who are there to listen, and to offer confidential support to staff across the University.

Members of the network are from a wide range of disciplines and backgrounds and are an impartial first point of contact for staff to discuss any issues. The purpose of network members will be to assist staff to identify the options available, to empower them to make a confident decision about how to proceed.  Network members will meet regularly, to identify if there are common concerns across the University. These can be fed back so that the University is able to address these issues.
