D&I Training and Development at the Financial Conduct Authority

Diversity and inclusion training is an important part of our work to build an inclusive culture across the FCA. We offer D&I specific training and also work to embed D&I awareness into many of broader training programmes.

All FCA employees must complete an e-learning module on ‘Understanding Unconscious Bias’. These biases can potentially have negative impacts in the work environment, but recognising and managing unconscious  bias can lead to better working relationships, increased job satisfaction and overall effectiveness.

New line managers are required to complete specific training on diversity and inclusion. We have created an online portal that provides all our people managers with information and resources that enables them to build and foster an inclusive culture within their teams.

In late 2017 we held a series of diversity & inclusion workshops for our Senior Leadership Team, these training sessions were led by members of our Executive committee. These workshops have now been rolled out to all line managers.

In addition to these, each of our Divisions has a Diversity and Inclusion Working Group who are responsible for delivering our D&I agenda in a way that meets the needs of their business area, this includes training.
