Chinese and South East Asian Staff Association

Our aim is to help the Met become more representative of the community which we serve. We want to promote the understanding of Chinese and South East Asian customs, culture and values, acting as a resource reference for all UK police services regarding cultural matters. 

Our objectives are:

• Promote a greater understanding of the Chinese and South East Asian customs, culture and values
• Provide an opportunity for Chinese and South East Asian community engagement
• Mentor, assist and support staff who feel that they have been unfairly treated 
• Advise UK police services on cultural matters
• Increase the recruitment and improve the retention of Chinese and SE Asian staff in all areas of the extended police family in both uniformed and non-uniformed roles
• Work with other staff (support) associations to ensure equality of opportunity
• Actively participate in the Met policy making processes
• Support and assist all Met colleagues
• Challenge unfair practices, processes and behaviour
