Charity / Volunteering Initiatives at the Financial Conduct Authority

Every two years, we invite colleagues to vote for one local and one national charity to focus our charitable and fundraising efforts towards. We are currently supporting Alzheimer's Society and Richard House Children's Hospice.

Our Charity Committee, made up of volunteers from across the FCA, organises events throughout the year to help raise funds and build awareness for our chosen charities.

We offer employees up to 28 hours a year to volunteer with a charity of their choice (within the provisions of our volunteering policy).

We provide a range of volunteering programmes for our employees including delivering goals and aspiration-raising programmes to young people and encourage colleagues to use their skills to become school governors and trustees. We also help coordinate one-off volunteering sessions by matching colleagues with local charities (e.g. homeless shelters and community centres).

In 2018, we are launching our Inspiring Futures programme which aims to support the community of Newham as we move to our new headquarters in Stratford. Inspiring Futures is a collection of interventions centred on a skills-based curriculum delivered in schools by FCA colleagues.
