Charity at BAE Systems

Charities, schools and not-for-profit organisations make a hugely valuable contribution to society. We support their work through donations and sponsorships, by encouraging employees to share their time and expertise as volunteers and by supporting employee fundraising.

We focus on issues connected to our business, such as the armed forces and their families and science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.

When we give our time or money to charity, we want it to have the maximum possible benefit. We are a member of the London Benchmarking Group – a network of over 120 leading companies working together to improve the effectiveness of their community investment activities. We use the Group’s methodology to build an accurate picture of the value of our support and its impact on our charity partners.

As well as one-off support we also undertake longer projects that help charities plan their work further in advance. This includes our Relationship Charity Awards (in the UK) that fund specific projects for up to five years.

Our community investment benefits charities and our business by helping us build good relationships with local communities and by contributing to employee development and job satisfaction.
