Celebrations and Events at PA Housing
Our annual Diwali party is held in Leicester and is open to all staff and their families to take part. It celebrated its 40th anniversary this year with plenty of food and traditional entertainment.
We marked the 550th birthday of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of the Sikhism with posters around the business and information on our intranet.
The end of Ramadan (Eid al Fitr) is celebrated each year with a traditional Indian feast. Some staff volunteer to join their Muslim colleagues and take part in the fast
We celebrate National Inclusion Week every year with informative sessions such as measuring unconscious bias and highlighting privilege.
During Inclusion week we are all encouraged to share practices, beliefs, and food from our own walk of life. This year we had a martial arts demonstration, a presentation on Sikhism and several staff were happy to learn how to tie a turban, which they wore for the rest of the day.
We take part in Pride events each year to demonstrate our support for members of the LGBTQ+ community among our staff and customers.
