Carers Initiatives at the Financial Conduct

We are committed to creating a working environment where our people can successfully balance their work and home lives. We understand that traditional work patterns do not suit everyone, and that the needs of an individual may vary over the course of your career. So, we aim to be as flexible as possible.

We launched our Carers Network in November 2016. The network supports anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction. The network also includes parents under its definition of a carer.

We partner with Employers for Carers, the professional network of Carers UK, and look to engage with other organisations to share our experience and learn from others.

Last year, the network ran several events in June to mark Carers Week and hosted a successful networking event on Carers Rights Day in November. In 2018, our Scotland office received the first level of accreditation from Carer Positive Scotland.
