Carers Week 2023
In a brilliant start to carers week, we are delighted to announce that we been accredited with the Ambassador award – the highest Carer Confident level. This makes Aviva just one of 6 organisations in the UK to hold the award.
We were initially accredited with the Accomplished award back in 2019 and have maintained and progressed the support of our working carers. Congratulations to everyone at Aviva on the award.
Carers Week 2022, we’re proud to share with you the commitment we make to all our carers at Aviva.
Our purpose is to celebrate and support all employees who play a caring role be it for a family member, partner, or friend. To provide a space to understand and educate carers and their leaders on the policies and services available to them as an Aviva employee. Achieved by actively listening to carers and engaging in industry best practice.
This week we’ve been celebrating and supporting our fantastic carers with a host of events from 'Parenting Teens- Reducing the risk of harmful behaviours' to 'How to manage caring for someone at end of life and thereafter'.
Thank you to Molly Howes and Natalie Lee for organising these events and thanks to our Aviva Carers community for all their hard work this week!
We’re proud of our carers policy at Aviva which includes:

Aviva Carers – supporting carers and parents
Bringing together colleagues from across the group with hands-on experience of caring, including parenting. We provide support and relevant information to those with caring responsibilities and welcome ideas on what further support might be helpful in the workplace. The group supports not only traditional ‘carers’ but also colleagues with caring responsibilities for children through the provision of guidance and assistance and by holding regular events. Our carers are a global network of people who mutually support each other, allowing them to maintain fulfilling careers at Aviva while raising or taking care of their families and loved ones.
We offer up to 70 hours paid carer's leave a year in the UK so our people taking on that vital role know they have our full support.
Having a tangible policy is just one way we strive to provide a culture where people feel empowered to create a work/life balance that actually works.
Sarah, from our UKI Risk Team, shares what having access to those additional days means to her and her mum.
Share your experience, tips and advice with other job seekers on how they can land their dream job. The best contributions will get published!
