Skip to main contentWorld Menopause Day at Aviva
World Menopause Day is held each year on 18 October. Recently we were joined by Menopause Reality at our Norwich office to shine a light on the menopause. They delivered sessions to our people using VR headsets which immersed them into one woman’s experience of the menopause.
It was a fantastic session that sparked conversations and supplemented the support we provide for our colleagues – including through the Digital GP app, virtual menopause groups and access to the Peppy menopause app which provides support and guidance.
Many thanks to the Menopause Reality team for a fantastic session.
Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2023 list
We’re incredibly proud to have made the Times Top 50 Employers for Gender Equality 2023 list, compiled by gender equality experts at Business in the Community.
Equality At Work has never been so important and we are committed to ensuring all of our employees, regardless of gender can thrive through initiatives such as briefer more accessible job ads that actively encourage female applicants.
Women’s All Parliamentary Football team
We kicked off a great session with the Women’s All Parliamentary Football team in June, and they definitely knew the score!
Aviva Balance’s Sara Groves was joined by Tracey Crouch MP and Kim Leadbeater MP, to discuss how they tackle work/life balance and loneliness.
Tracey, Conservative MP for Chatham and Aylesford, told us:
“Somebody sent me a letter when I was Sports Minister, saying: ‘Things women know about – cooking, cleaning, making babies. Things women do not know about – football.’ Although my husband would suggest I definitely don’t know about cooking and cleaning!”
Kim, Labour MP for Batley and Spen, shared her observations:
“Coming to a fantastic company like Aviva, you see how modern it is and all the work you do in diversity, equity and inclusion – we don’t have as much of that in parliament, so female MPs face those extra levels of difficulty in doing the job.”
Thank you for joining us Tracey and Kim, we’re so proud to sponsor the team!

Women in Finance Innovation Day 2023
In mid-January we partnered with Salesforce as part of a Women in Finance Innovation Day. The aim was to work on creating a platform to enable easier connection, expertise sharing, and co-operation across the industry.
“It was a real privilege to collaborate with some fantastic Aviva and Salesforce colleagues on such an innovative idea to further Aviva's commitment to HM Treasury's Women in Finance Charter. Seeing the hard-work, passion and excitement from such a range of people materialise in the room was brilliant, and taking home the winning trophy was the cherry on top” – Yusuf S.
Congratulations to Team Astro and their winning idea ‘FINder’!
Thank you to the incredible women-owned and run businesses who helped make this event possible: Page & Bloom, KARMA CANS and Sonya Hurtado.

See what she had to say:
We also chatted to our own Wendy Smith about how she felt when she joined us...
