This workshop will address the practical aspects of making adjustments, from implementing an effective process to managing the day-to-day impact on the business and the individual.
You might have a robust workplace adjustments process that is written into your policies, but do you have the confidence to handle the challenging situations that can arise when putting policy into practice?
Most organisations understand the importance of making adjustments for disabled employees, and have a policy on how to identify, implement and review these adjustments. However, a good policy must also be applied well in practice for it to be effective. With fewer than three in ten UK employees very confident in their organisation’s ability to manage their legal obligations and seek guidance on adjustments[1], it is crucial that key colleagues, including line managers, are confident and knowledgeable about their role in implementing adjustments.
Led by Senior Disability Consultant, Brendan Roach and Legal Director, Bela Gor, this course will cover the difficult situations that can arise when putting a workplace or reasonable adjustment policy and process into practice. We will provide tools and tips to help support your employees to be confident in delivering adjustments that work for individuals, teams and the business. Bela will also take delegates through recent legal cases to explore the question of ‘what is reasonable?’ and highlight common and less obvious pitfalls for employers.
