Please join us for the next in our series of “Mental Health Matters”, which will explore the issue of race and inequality within mental health provision at 5.30pm on Tuesday 25 Sep in St Pancras Conference Centre
Are there inequalities in access by black and minority ethnic communities to mental health services in England? What are the barriers and challenges experienced in getting appropriate mental health support, and what is C&I’s record on this issue?
The event will be chaired by Trust Medical Director, Dr Vincent Kirchner, and we are delighted to be joined by Jacqui Dyer MBE, a Government advisor on mental health and equality. She is also a Lambeth councillor and founder member of Black Thrive, a community-led initiative to ensure mental health services are more responsive to the local needs of the Afro-Caribbean community.
Jacqui and Trust service users will offer their own personal perspectives on the issue, and Jacqui will then moderate what we very much hope will be an open and thought-provoking discussion.
We look forward to seeing as many of you at the event as possible. To confirm your place please email communications@candi.nhs.uk. The event is on Tuesday, 25 September 2018. Doors open at 5:30pm; 6pm start, finishing at 7:30pm and the venue is: St Pancras Conference Centre, 4 St Pancras Way, London NW1 0PE.
