here is a growing debate on the nature of leadership and how organisational leaders can ensure that they adopt a skill set which enables them to manage an increasing diverse workplace more effectively. How do leaders move away from ‘command and control’ leadership styles to ones that are more collaborative and engage with difference, based in for instance cultural background, age, sexual orientation or thinking and work styles? This will be a key question explored in this 2 hour introductory workshop.
Other themes and questions explored will include:
- The relationship between diversity and organisational performance and profit
- An overview of Unconscious Bias
- The role of trust in managing diversity
- Learning how to manage difference inclusively
This introductory session will be highly participative. We will encourage participates to explore their own and organisational biases prior to attending the workshop. Within the workshop therre will be the use of a range of scenarios from public and private sector organisations to gain further insight into what inclusive leadership looks like in practice.
We will also provide you with some practical tips for promoting inclusive leadership.
