8th March 2017
8.30-16.30
Nationwide
To celebrate International Women’s Day on 8th March, Network Rail are aiming to hold STEM inspiring sessions at 40 schools up and down the country. The energising sessions will showcase the possibilities of choosing a career in STEM and explain to the young people involved that Network Rail are an employer who could be exactly right for them and for People Like Me.
Many young people, particularly girls, don’t choose or give up early on Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM) careers as they decided that they not for ‘people like me.’ 'People Like Me’ is a great way to help the next generation of scientists and engineers to picture themselves working in the railway sector.
We need these young people to join us and help us to create great working environments that celebrate diversity, enable people to bring their whole selves to work and drive innovation and creativity.
We are reaching out to a number of girls aged 11-14 to encourage them to study STEM subjects but to also find out what jobs women at Network Rail do. If your school or club is interested in taking part on 8th March please contact [email protected] for further information.
