Hachette UK is the UK's most diversified trade publishing group. We publish over 5,000 books a year and work with authors such as JK Rowling, Mo Farah, Stephen King, Ian Rankin, Martina Cole, Sarah Waters, KSI, and Joe Sugg to name a few. It's also very likely that one of our educational textbooks is sitting on your shelf at home or in your school library.

Believe it or not, we also aren’t just about books, we have a gaming company called Neon Play who make mobile games for iPhone, iPad and android devices. We need people from any and all backgrounds, disciplines and subjects to help us strengthen and broaden our business for the future. We don’t just need editors: we need marketeers, publicists, sales people, social media experts, financial accountants, data analysts. Could this be the industry for you? For the fifth time, we're running our Inside Story event offering 60 students an Insight into Publishing. With a new name we’re offering a brand new experience for our attendees who will receive an interactive and immersive opportunity to find out about the amazing career opportunities available in the book publishing industry. Since starting in 2013 many of our attendees have gone on to complete work experience hear or at other publishing companies and others are working have permanent roles in our business. • You'll hear from key people in different roles around the group, find out what they do and how they got into the industry.
• Hear from an literary agent about the "other" side of publishing.
• Get to "create" your own book throughout the day and pitch it at the end.
• Hear from those who completed work experience and are now in permanent jobs.
• Get CV and covering letter advice from our brilliant HR team.

On the day we’ll provide lunch and refreshments. All sessions will include a Q&A, and an opportunity to speak directly to our managers about your career. The only eligibility criteria is that you need to be over 18 to attend. We want people from all across the UK to come to Inside Story and get an insight into publishing therefore we will be paying reasonable travel expenses for everyone who attends. This means a standard rail fare if travelling from outside the M25 and if you are travelling to us from within the M25 you'll receive the cost of London zones 1-7 travel card which is equivalent to £21.70.
