Tickets can now be booked for a range of guided tours and self-guided audio tours running Monday to Saturday throughout August. Tickets for the ‘Voice and Vote' exhibition in August have also been released.
A short season of ‘From Petitions to Prime Ministers’ guided tours has been added to mark 100 years since the UK Parliament passed a law which allowed some women (and all men) to vote for the first time.
The popular family guided tours will be Vote 100 themed, focusing on protests, influential women at Parliament, and how the gradual extension of the right to vote impacts young people today.
All tours include the Commons Chamber and the Lords Chamber, plus St Stephen’s Hall and Central Lobby which played such a key part in the ‘Votes for Women!’ story, and the 'New Dawn' light sculpture.
In Westminster Hall the Voice and Vote: Women's Place in Parliament’ exhibition combines historic material and contemporary immersive technology. Visitors will experience recreated historical spaces known as 'The Ventilator', 'The Cage' and 'The Tomb'.
Tickets can be purchased online, by calling +44 (0)20 7219 4114 or in person from the Ticket Office at the front of Portcullis House on Victoria Embankment.
Further information
In a busy working building we occasionally have to change or cancel tours due to the on-going maintenance programme and other parliamentary business. During summer 2018, the Lords Chamber will be open but visitors will view the Chamber from either end due to scheduled carpet replacement work.
The building is closed on Sundays and Bank Holiday Monday (27 August).
More information for group travel organisers and members of the travel trade wishing to book visits to the Houses of Parliament is on the Groups and travel trade page.
