The CPS has committed in its 2020 priorities to develop a diverse workforce that reflects the society we serve, attracting the best people irrespective of background. We are also committed to the Civil Service vision to become the most inclusive employer in the UK.
We are holding a Career Development Conference scheduled to take place on Thursday, 31 January. Whilst the conference is open to expressions of interest from all staff, we are particularly keen to welcome applications from BAME staff as we are eager to increase representation across grades and Areas.
We know that seeing BAME staff progressing in organisations not only demonstrates an inclusive workforce at all levels but helps to attract and retain BAME staff.
The conference is for staff who would like to improve their performance in their current roles, or develop their skills to apply for more senior positions. The conference gives delegates the chance to explore the learning and development resources and opportunities available to them within the CPS and the wider Civil Service.
The event is being supported by Permanent Secretary and Civil Service Race Champion, Richard Heaton; Chief Executive, Paul Staff and the Director of Public Prosecutions, Max Hill QC.
At the Conference the Diversity and Inclusion Team will have a strong presence with a stand which we will be hosting throughout the event with the theme of CPS in Partnership. This will be an opportunity for the team to promote our relationships with our stakeholders – creating a better awareness of how our relationship with Vercida enables us to provide support and opportunities for those that will be attending the Conference.
