Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentWe employ about 5,500 people. We’re striving to become an employer of choice. And, as a responsible and respected corporate citizen, sustainability and cost efficiency are key. Achieving such objectives means we have embraced a culture based on values of integrity, continuous development, diversity and inclusivity, respect, unity and responsibility. If you share these values and want to play a role in influencing the energy industry’s future, then we’d like to hear from you.
UK Power Networks may not be a name you recognise. But let’s have a think for a minute…
This morning you may have boiled your kettle to make your tea, turned on the lights while brushing your teeth or, recently, you could have jumped on a train or jetted off from one of the major airports in the South East? All of these events could not have occurred without UK Power Networks. As one of the UK’s largest energy distribution companies, a quarter of the population rely on us to go about their daily lives. So we’re responsible for keeping the lights on for customers regardless of whom they pay their bill to.

Our values are the DNA of our business; they will help us to deliver our vision 'to become an organisation which is an Employer of choice, a respected Corporate Citizen and Sustainably Cost Efficient'.
We recognise and encourage the value which difference and constructive challenge can bring. “Diversity & Inclusiveness is one of the six values” explains HR Director Chris Degg. “It is our Vision to be an Employer of Choice and our goal is to be within the Top 25 Companies to work for. UK Power Networks needs both diversity and inclusion to be successful. ”
“We have taken a two pronged approach to the development of the strategy” says Jean Kelly, D&I Strategy Lead, “We have carried out focus groups and one-to-one interviews with employees from across the organisation to obtain a better understanding of the culture of the business in relation to D&I. We have been working with an external diversity expert to help us understand and analyse our current situation and provide the EMT with an insight into what other organisations are doing. A D&I Taskforce will now be established to develop and oversee our D&I strategy”.
