We are the only company delivering a ‘one-price-goes-anywhere’, six days a week service to more than 29 million addresses across the UK. Royal Mail successfully floated on the London Stock Exchange in October 2013 and is one of the UK's leading companies. More than 700,000 members of the public bought shares in Royal Mail, and the majority of our UK employees received free shares, amounting to a ten per cent stake in our company.

We are now engaged in one of the biggest industrial transformations in recent British history. Letter volumes are declining, parcels business is growing, much of it driven by the rise of e-retailing. We are determined to retain our proud position as number one in parcel deliveries. Our vision is to be recognised as the best delivery company in the UK and across Europe.

Royal Mail is one of the largest employers in the UK, directly employing around 139,000. One in 175 employed people in the UK work for Royal Mail, and we also support a further 114,100 jobs in the wider UK economy. Success at Royal Mail depends on our people. They represent the company among communities and with customers, six days a week. We rely on them to fulfil the Universal Service and go the extra mile in delivering a high quality customer service.
