Maritime and Coastguard Agency

Maritime and Coastguard Agency

The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) is intent on becoming the best maritime safety organisation in the world – combining prevention, enforcement and emergency response – whilst supporting the whole maritime industry.

We provide a 24-hour maritime search and rescue service around the UK coast and in the international search and rescue region through HM Coastguard and inspect and survey ships to ensure that they are meeting UK and international safety rules. We also provide certification to seafarers, register vessels and respond to pollution from shipping and offshore installations.

Become a Marine Surveyor

The role of a Marine Surveyor with the MCA is extremely varied and no two days are the same.  Marine Surveyors inspect and audit a variety of different vessels, large and small, international and domestic, to make sure that UK and International Regulations are met.

MCA want the best. And for the best Marine Surveyors, a competitive package is offered– great career options, flexible working patterns, attractive remuneration and a Civil Service Pension Scheme.
