More about LW THEATRES

Diversity & Inclusion

At the heart of our Company is a culture where everyone feels seen and heard and can be themselves at work.

Some of our diversity and inclusion initiatives include:

We have a ‘Dignity at Work’ policy reflecting the views and opinions of our people.

We have carried out extensive training for all our staff that will enable them to develop the skills needed to identify and tackle behaviours that undermine respect and dignity at work.

We are supporters of the BECTU Diversity Action Plan.

We have become strategic partners to Parents in Performing Arts (PiPA).

We have introduced gender-neutral job titles at some of our theatres and are looking to roll this out across the whole company.

We have partnered with Get Into Theatre and the ALW Foundation to run work experience programmes aimed at young adults from under-represented backgrounds.

At LW Theatres, we pride ourselves on being a family of individuals and actively welcome applicants from all backgrounds – it’s one of our core values and we believe celebrating our differences is key to success.

We want to be a leader in our field in terms of diversity and inclusion and by monitoring the demographic of applicants throughout our recruitment process, we can be at the forefront of progressive action and meet the aims and commitments set out in our equal opportunities policy.

We’ve therefore recently implemented an ATS system to ensure that our recruitment process is as accessible as possible. We welcome talented candidates from diverse and neurodiverse groups as part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Regardless of your background, all we ask is that you have the skills and experience required and the desire to succeed. In return, we pledge to ensure that our selection process is both transparent and fair.

Values & Behaviours

At LW Theatres, we believe in and work towards the following five values:

1. Breaking new ground

We stay one step ahead by embracing constant reinvention. We stay fresh and relevant – but we don’t follow fads or do things on a whim.

2. Incredibly high standards

We know the nature of live theatre means not everything can fall flawlessly into place all of the time. But we do our very best to make sure our audiences’ experiences are as perfect as possible. So we obsess over the details in a good way – not a stifling and stuffy way.

3. Being a family of individuals

Each of our theatres has its own unique character and personality. But they’re all born out of the same ambition and vision – to be part of the most successful theatre group in the world. And that means building lasting and collaborative relationships – and never being complacent.

4. Modesty as a virtue

We’re not being boastful and never feel the need to shout about our talents from the rooftops. But we don’t shy away from success either – we believe in enhancing our charm by celebrating others with grace and elegance.

5. Keeping our audiences centre stage

Ultimately it’s our audiences, partners, producers and sponsors that keep our theatres alive. So we take great pride in putting them at the heart of everything that we do. In a considered way, not an overwhelming or suffocating way.
