We have an ambassador programme for corporate social responsibility and diversity, inclusion and belonging. These employees provide a voice for our staff and drive incentives and best practice around D&I and CSR, ensuring everyone is heard and equality amongst minorities is championed.

In recent years deverellsmith has supported many groups who suffer from under-representation within Property. The company’s CSR programme ‘devgives...’ purpose is to raise awareness, funding and offer resources where possible.

Our actions:

  • Partnered with networking group ‘Ladies in Real Estate’ to host the 50/50 breakfast
  • International Women’s Day 2021: Internal education session on parents in the workforce, gender ay report and Q&A with one of deverellsmith’s female leaders
  • Q&A breakfast on BAME employees with Founder of Afro Foxtons
  • deverellsmith also launched the ‘seemenow’ campaign in June which partnered with akt to raise the visibility of LGBTQ+ professionals in property as well as fund for the charity. The campaign was stimulated by a survey carried out by EG which revealed that 81% of LGBTQ+ property professionals felt that not enough was being done nationwide within the industry to promote the visibility of the LGBTQ+ community.
  • deverellsmith is one of the supporting founders of ‘do some good’ a platform which supported the vulnerable during the 2020 pandemic. deverellsmith provided a logistical call centre to manage inbound and outbound leads facilitating requests by charities and contributions from the property industry.
  • We implement a ‘Don’t be afraid to speak up’ policy, encouraging our employees to confidently speak to our D&I ambassador if they experience discrimination with internal or external stakeholders.
  • Signatory of Mental Health in Recruitment pledge
  • We ensure our employees experience diversity and inclusion training and complete a module on it as part of the onboarding process.
  • Our leading L&D partner provides training units on how to recruit a diverse workforce, educate on unconscious bias and manager training.
