About us

Currys is a brand with a familiar name and a new look and feel. From streamlining our operation to enhancing our digital offering with ShopLive 24/7 video shopping, we’re a brand that’s transforming, building out our offering, looking ahead and adapting to the needs and demands of customers.

Through progress and innovation, we have integrated stores, online and mobile to create a seamless customer experience – making us a true omnichannel business, generating over £3.4bn sales online in 2020. Behind the scenes, there’s a vast operation spanning the UK and Ireland, Hong Kong, Greece and the Nordics. In addition to international stores and facilities, there are 19 distribution hubs around the country, plus five contact centres, a London office in Acton and over 300 stores in the UK and ROI. And it all started in 1884 with the creation of the original Currys brand. Since then, we’ve merged with PC World, Carphone Warehouse, Team Knowhow and Dixons Carphone to become the business we are today: forward-focused and proud to help customers find and enjoy the technology they want.

More about currys

Our culture and values

One Business, Three Values

From Head Office to distribution centres to stores across the country, one vision unites our team: helping everyone enjoy amazing technology.

We’re proud to be one business with a single, shared goal. We achieve it by living three values that make our organisation unique. They’re what give us belief and define the way we work. They’re the glue that holds us together and what we love about our work. They’re also the sort of simple, straightforward values our team can get behind every day. If you’re our kind of person, you’ll find they strike a chord.

We don’t just sell the technology people need – we make sure they get the most from it. We’re passionate about our products and we want them to help our customers, now and in the future. That means being responsible and helping people choose the right tech for their needs. And naturally, we put the customer at the heart of all we do.

Though our organisation is made up of many different areas, we deliver as one business. United by a common vision, we celebrate the success of all our colleagues, embracing diversity. We’re always ready to learn, grow and develop – and to have a little fun. Our team has a family feel and we win together as one.

We take responsibility for making achievements happen. We’re clear on our goals, accountable for delivering them and always working towards our vision. If there’s a way to make things clearer or faster, we make sure it’s adopted. And we’re always super helpful, going above and beyond to do the right thing for others. As business owners, we try to be just as responsible. We manage the business with care and treat every pound as if it’s our own.

Inclusion and diversity

At Currys, we value our differences and the difference we make. It makes us the unique business we are. As thousands of colleagues with different backgrounds, experiences, ethnicities, sexualities, and genders, we draw collective strength from our diversity. Amazing things happen when we come together as one team of individuals, with a shared vision, values and love for technology.

This isn’t just something we say. Every voice has a space at our table, and we encourage colleagues to engage with important conversations about what matters to them, and learn more about diversity, to keep us moving in the right direction.

You can get involved in celebrating diversity through regular calendar events like Black History Month, National Inclusion Week and International Women’s Day. We invest in partnerships with organisations including everywoman, Be Inspired, Stonewall, Business in the Community and the Business Disability Forum. Inclusion and diversity are also championed, shaped and driven by our Leadership Inclusion Forum, which meets regularly to discuss ways to take action and drive positive change.

We’re here for you, on every level. Because we’re only at our best when you are too. As well as eyecare vouchers and access to on-site gyms, there are tons of opportunities to stay fit and healthy, no matter what your interest or ability. This includes charity bike rides, walking challenges and online fitness classes.

We’ve made huge investments in Mental Health First Aid training, skilling up 450 colleagues to become Mental Health First Aiders. And our Wellbeing Corner is full of resources and tips to stay well. The Aviva Wellbeing app is available to all Currys colleagues too, as is a 24-hour confidential helpline through our Employee Assistance programme. And because we can all use a little help to manage our money, we also offer a variety of ways to help you save – from our Cycle to Work scheme, to healthcare discounts, and childcare vouchers.

Another way we’re promoting wellbeing is through our new Hybrid working practices. They are designed to help teams and individuals to perform at their best across the virtual and physical worlds. As different business areas operate in different ways, it is not a one-size-fits-all approach – we flex the model to ensure everyone feels engaged and empowered to give their all.
