Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentThe Work Experience Quality Standard is a national accreditation which provides external quality assurance for high quality work experience and employability programmes.
The accreditation provides a step-by-step guide for organisations to work towards, ensuring the placements they offer are high quality. There are frameworks available for employers, learning providers and facilitators, which complement each other and ensures that the learner journey is mapped consistently.
The Work Experience Quality Standard was developed by Fair Train with support from the Department for Education, Ofsted, National Apprenticeship Service, National Careers Service, TUC, TSNLA, AELP and AoC, as well as employers and learning providers.
Work experience no longer refers solely to the traditional two-week placement undertaken in years 10-11. It is often a tailored programme which offers an individual the chance to gain the skills necessary to find full time employment. Work experience comes under many guises; including, but not limited to, work placements, traineeships, apprenticeships, Internships and volunteering. No matter what type of work experience is undertaken, we aim to ensure that it's high quality. The Work Experience Quality Standard accreditation can be used to maintain quality across all elements of training.
The Work Experience Quality Standard accreditation comes in three levels - bronze, silver and gold which reflects the level of support provided by the organisation.
There are three separate frameworks, one aimed at employers (looking to host learners), one aimed at providers (looking to place learners)and one aimed at facilitators (looking to work with employers and learning providers as a broker).
