Running for more than 20 years, the Workplace Gender Equality Awards are the UK’s most prestigious awards for gender equality in the workplace. The awards celebrate outstanding progress and examples of best practice, impact and / or innovation and individual achievement.
The Business in the Community Workplace Gender Equality Awards recognise organisations that have put gender equality at the core of their business agendas and are committed to creating equal, diverse and inclusive workplaces. The Finalist organisations have been selected for demonstrating best practice in their award category.
The campaign is the only membership organisation representing employers who want to transform the workplace by ensuring inclusiveness for women. The campaign aims to promote transparency, transform workplace cultures and eliminate occupational segregation.
The awards categories are:
Responsible Business for Gender Equality 2017
Organisations with particularly high performance across the whole entry form will be considered for this new and prestigious title. Up to 5 finalists will be selected and invited to a judging panel of external experts that will take place in March 2017 and from which a single winner will be chosen.
Assessment criteria for this award will be against additional elements including: strategy and sustainability; impact and transformational change and innovation.
Gender Equality Game Changer Awards 2017
Particularly innovative or impactful case studies will be considered to be recognised as Gender Equality Game Changers. Diversity experts will review high performing case studies from section 3 of the entry form and select up to approximately 10 best practice examples that demonstrate outstanding progress or transformational change and / or innovation.
Gender Champion Award 2017
This category is retained from 2016 and is for a senior executive who has made a remarkable contribution to championing gender balance and equality of opportunity in her / his organisation.
Up to 3 finalists will be selected and invited to a judging panel of external gender equality experts that will take place in March 2017 and from which a single winner will be chosen.
