Volunteering Day in association with York Cares
The Staff Development and HR team took part in a Team Challenge Day on 22 May at Greenfields: School and Community Garden. This was in conjunction with York Cares who are a partnership of the city’s leading employers committed to making York a better place through volunteering.
The whole team really embraced the challenge making it a fun, engaging and rewarding day. Moral was high and the sun was shining!
‘What a great day out! A wonderful opportunity to get away from the desk and out into the community. Very satisfying to see our impact on Greenfields garden and to support York Cares wider mission.’ Cameron Gledhill – Human Resources Assistant
Our Staff Development team provides links with York Cares to offer to all staff at YSJ the opportunity to get involved with volunteering from a personal and team development perspective.
The act of volunteering can go well beyond making a difference to the life of someone else and is more than team-building days and fence painting.
