UK Power Networks have won ‘Utility of the Year’ 2016 at the annual Utility Week Industry Awards ceremony for the second time in succession and third time in the last five years.
The award recognises the best utility from the gas, water and electricity sectors. UK Power Networks’ win highlights the incredible progress they have made over the last six years.
They commented: “We are delighted and very proud to again be recognised. It is testament to the hard work put in by everyone at UK Power Networks to deliver our vision to be an Employer of Choice, a respected Corporate Citizen, sustainably cost efficient and the best DNO by 2018.”
The judges stated that UK Power Networks’ performance on safety, reliability, customer service and innovation made them the clear choice and a standout winner. They were recognised for the improvements they have made right across the business. Their Customer Minutes Lost (CMLs) and Customer Interruptions (CIs) are the best ever. Their safety performance is exemplary and they have made significant improvements to the service which they deliver to their customers. They were also recognised for their relentless focus on innovation.
To win Utility of the Year once is an achievement in itself, but to win three times in five years is testament to the hard work, dedication and professionalism of all of their 6,000 staff in every area of the business. To receive recognition externally from amongst their peers is particularly rewarding and is a reflection of the commitment and skill of everyone.
