Here are 10 ways in which Aviva delivers an inclusive environment and sustainable work-life balance for its employees.
1) Living Wage
The Living Wage is independently calculated every year to meet the real cost of living. Aviva pays the Living Wage to all employees and on-site contractors. It makes good business sense and it’s the right thing to do.
2) Insurance benefits
Aviva’s employment schemes offer all the appropriate perks for an insurance role. Included are critical illness cover, life insurance, dental and private health insurance.
3) Equal parental leave
In 2017 Aviva introduced a new group-wide equal parental leave policy. All parents at Aviva are entitled to the same amount of paid and unpaid time off. This is regardless of gender, sexual orientation or how they became a parent. Dads at Aviva now take 14 times as much parental leave as they did a year ago.
4) Apprenticeships
Apprenticeships allow Aviva to attract talented people who are keen to learn whilst earning a full-time salary. There is a range of apprenticeship opportunities across the country for new starters and people who want to retrain.
5) Saving and finance plans
Aviva’s Save As You Earn scheme (SAYE) allows employees to save monthly. Employees are offered a Flexcard – a Visa card that allows staff to top up from their salary and gives up to 10% cash back.
6) Bikes for work
Aviva’s employees receive great tax savings for bikes and accessories. So you can get fit and healthy whilst looking out for the local and global environment.
7) Talent management
Aviva aims to build an environment where its people can thrive and actively asks them about their career interests. At all levels of the organization everyone will have a formal and transparent career conversation at least once a year.
8) Aviva Matching Share Plan
Aviva’s workers are given the opportunity to buy shares from their gross monthly salary. The scheme enables employees to become owners of the company.
9) Home computing
The home computing arrangement allows Aviva’s employees to spread the cost of equipment over three years. The cost is recovered through a reduction in cash salary, with a tax benefit arrangement.
10) Wellbeing
Aviva has an active and committed focus to its employees’ wellbeing. This includes healthy eating initiatives, mindfulness practices, health checks and free Yoga & Pilates classes.
