Lloyds Banking Group has been named the UK’s top private sector employer for lesbian, gay, and bisexual people in the 2015 Stonewall Top 100 employers list.
The Group achieved 3rd place in the overall list, which recognises and rewards the pioneering efforts of leading businesses to create workplaces where lesbian, gay and bisexual people can reach their full potential.
Alison Brittain, Group Director of Retail Banking for Lloyds Banking Group, said: “I'm delighted that the Group is again recognised as a leading employer for lesbian, gay and bisexual people in the UK. As a Group, we’re passionate about ensuring our business truly reflects the diversity of the customers and communities we serve, and provides a workplace in which colleagues can be themselves and are treated fairly, with dignity and respect. This is of such immense importance to us, it is one of the key commitments within our Helping Britain Prosper Plan. We are very proud of the progress we have made to create a more inclusive and supportive working environment that benefits us all.
“Over the next 12 months, we’ll continue to build on this progress, working closely with Stonewall, our leaders, and our Rainbow network to be the best bank for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender colleagues and customers.”
Simon Feeke, Director of Workplace, Stonewall said: “It’s fantastic to see Lloyds Banking Group taking third place and Top Private Sector Employer in this year’s Top 100 list. Their performance in this year’s index – the most competitive ever – is a testament to their consistent hard work to support lesbian, gay and bisexual staff and customers. They recognise that this work isn’t just an optional pleasantry, it makes good business sense in modern Britain.’
