Blog by Jenny Yerworth on 'Does the perfect job really exist?'
Life has setbacks and problems that at that particular time we can do nothing about them, through these setbacks we learn how to deal with difficult situations.
I was reading in the paper today about how records of older people in employment have gone up. This may be due to a variety of factors.
1) The need to work to pay bills.
2) Not ready to slow down.
3) Wanting to keep active.
4) Feeling they have a place in society.
This then may mean that there are less jobs for the younger generation. There is the argument that younger people, may be some of whom have just graduated are looking for their ideal job.
It may be a case of not wanting to do another job just in case the "perfect job" comes about.
This is not ideal as it can be a backward step to being independent and self sufficient.
By working in any kind of job it is adding to their skill set and enhancing their CV.
It is difficult to not to be in a chosen career immediately but the positives outway the negatives by a long way.
1) Earning your own money
2) Becoming independent
3) Saving for the future
4) Developing interpersonal skills
The people who are older recognise their responsibilities and continue to work to maintain a good and comfortable lifestyle.
We all have our dreams and targets but sometimes they are not realistic and continue to wait for better opportunities to come along. Then it may be too late to, if one wishes to, get on the property ladder. Also not to be reliant on other people to pay your way.
Independence is a great step and to some important to have, especially for those who have disabilities and difficult circumstances.
Achievement in these areas are the way forward to a fulfilled life.
