The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) has been awarded silver accreditation against the Investors in People (IiP) Standard.
It’s a fantastic achievement that really highlights the excellent standard across the DVLA.
IiP is the international standard for people management, defining what it takes to lead, support and manage people effectively to achieve sustainable results.
Over 1,300 staff took part in the IiP survey and interviews. The assessor made a number of recommendations that the DVLA will implement over the next three years to make it an even better place to work.
IiP assessor Howard Jones said:
“It was a pleasure to carry out the agency’s IiP assessment. People were welcoming, open and keen to get involved in the exercise. I found an organisation led by inspirational leaders who are motivating a team focused on identifying and exceeding customer needs.
“People have responded positively to external challenges and have achieved some outstanding successes in relation to digitalisation, the integration of IT services and the development of business services.
“Whilst areas for development were identified the People Action Plan and Workplace Modernisation Agenda are clearly having a positive impact on the leadership, management and development of the DVLA’s people”.
Commenting on the award, HR and Estates Director Louise White, said:
“I am thrilled that DVLA has received this silver accreditation. This is testament to the vision and drive of people across the Agency who are making DVLA a great place to work. We seek to continuously improve and Investors in People can help us do that.”
