In 2016 Muslim brothers and sisters across the globe celebrated Eid Al-Fitr, to mark the end of Ramadan on the 6th of July.
Eid is not just to celebrate the end of fasting but thank Allah for the strength he provided throughout the previous months to help them practice self-control.
It is also a time for forgiveness and making amends.
In 2016 there were over 2.7 million Muslims registered in the UK, many of whom would have worked through the month of Ramadan.
Although Eid Al-Fitr is not recognised as a public holiday in the UK, many Muslims take leave so they can attend morning prayer and celebrate with family and friends.
Many gatherings take place across the UK to mark the festival, including an event in 2016 that was hosted by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan in Trafalgar Square on the 9th July.
