Title: Operational Planning Assistant
Salary: £19,000 + benefits
Based at: The Quadrant in Milton Keynes (Facilities include a gym, restaurant and a library)
Job Type: Initial fixed term contract for 1 year

Network Rail is the organisation in charge of operating the railway network and it is our responsibility to create the capacity to handle this increase.
This role is excellent way into our industry for a bright ambitious individual. As an Operational Planning Assistant you will assist with the delivery of plans that meet industry requirements for enhancing performance capacity.
The successful candidate with undergo dedicated training which will equip you with the skills to apply to become a Timetable planner within 12 months. This will include technical training plus a range of placements with the Capacity Planning Teams, at operational locations and with train operators.
The role of Operational Planning Assistant is central to helping us meet this challenge.
No experience is necessary to be considered for this opportunity, but the following skills and qualities are vital:
Comfortable using and learning IT systems;
good organisational, analytic and problem solving skills; and
Skilled communicator with commitment to understanding customers's needs and a flair for influencing and persuading.
The successful candidate will be provided with all of the training and support needed to perform the role and at the end of 12 months we would expect you to secure a permanent position with us.
The position is based at our state-of-the-art head office - The Quadrant in Milton Keynes - where the facilities include a gym, restaurant and a library. The Quadrant is located close to mainline and local bus services.
