Welcome to VERCIDA website.

Meanwhile, only half of the leadership teams behind FTSE companies are actively championing greater diversity, says the Chartered Management Institute. At VERCIDA, we offer opportunities to move beyond the current situation, advertising and supporting senior job roles for Black, Asian, and ethnic minority persons. We’re spurred to action by what we see in BAME employment trends. The research mentioned above from the Chartered Management Institute suggests that only 6% of management jobs in the UK at the time were held by members of ethnic minorities. That’s fewer than half their proportion of the working-age population as a whole. The reasons behind that? Barriers to mentoring, training, career progression and a lack of diversity-aware working practices.
We think that needs to change because, as explained by a 2015 McKinsey study, firms in the top quartile for diversity were over a third more likely to outperform those at the bottom end of the scale. That’s because diverse companies see increased job satisfaction among their employees, and so are more attractive to the top talent. That’s why we only work with companies chasing success, chasing a diverse workforce. Discover suitable vacancies here.
There’s another level to consider in our work to promote diversity in the workplace. We are champions of the idea that everyone should be able to fulfil their potential at work. And that should not have any connection to their identity or background. Sadly, that doesn’t seem to be the case. Around one in eight people in the working-age population in the UK has BAME roots, yet only one in sixteen top management positions are filled with people from this group.
We believe in fairness and representation, but also in success. Research suggests that the UK’s gross domestic product could grow by £24 billion a year if minority groups ahd full access to the labour market. And there are good opportunities (in the right businesses) for diversity to be a key push for growth. We looked into the top 10 Black, Asian & Minority Ethnicity (BAME) Employers in 2017, read more here.
Reports from the floor say BAME employees value career progression more than those from a white British background. This enthusiasm should be nurtured and developed. There are many ways to approach this but best practice actions should always include a top-down approach with senior-level sponsorship and commitment to change. On the ground, this can look like mentoring, unconscious bias training, and reviewing recruitment approaches to make them transparent and fairly-delivered.
We want to support these kinds of thoughtful employers. That’s where our intelligence-driven database comes in. At VERCIDA we offer new and innovative ways to find jobs, roles and opportunities that look beyond a person’s biology or physical appearance.
