Santander - Funds and awareness raised in Northern Ireland

Santanders internal embrace LGB&T Network held a Town Hall and charity event in Belfast to raise funds and awareness of the work being done by the network to create an inclusive and diverse environment at Santander.
On Tuesday 2 August, Susan Allen, Chief Transformation Officer, joined over 50 colleagues from Northern Ireland at our Belfast office for a Town Hall Event.
Susan discussed Santander UK’s current strategy and her role as the Chief Transformation Officer and Executive Sponsor of Santander’s LGB&T Network, Embrace. While Steven Gunn, Embrace Co-Chair, and Chris Burns, Embrace Northern Ireland Chair, gave a presentation about each of Santander’s five employee led Networks. Steven and Chris also spoke about the activities and events that Embrace has delivered across the country and within Belfast.
Over £10,000 raised
After the Town Hall, ‘Out on the Roof’ an evening fundraising event was held. Santander supported the event along with Allen & Overy and Barclays in aid of The Rainbow Project, a support charity for the local LGB&T community.
The event was attended by Máirtín ÓMuilleoir, Northern Ireland Finance Minister, and Mary Ellen Campbell, Deputy Lord Mayor of Belfast and Belfast City Councillor. The evening included a live charity auction and is expected to raise over £10,000 before any matched funding.
