RIDI awards 2016 are now open for submissions

RIDI awards 2016 are now open for submissions

The Recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) has confirmed the categories for its 2016 awards and opened for submissions.

The awards are designed to celebrate progress and recognise the success of organisations that are making headway in increasing the inclusion of disabled people.

RIDI says its message to all recruiters is that it is often the little things that can make the biggest difference and so it encourages organisations to consider entering whatever their level of progress – even if they are only just getting started. There are ten categories in all:

Getting Started Award - a new award aimed at encouraging all recruitment agencies to get started on their journey to disability confidence

Employers Choice Award – an opportunity for employers to nominate a recruitment agency or partner

Agency Choice – recognising and promoting collaboration – employers inspiring their recruitment partners

Individual Choice – Disabled jobseekers are invited to nominate an agency based on candidate experience

Extending The Reach – Recognising excellence in inclusive candidate sourcing

Reasonable Adjustments in Recruitment – Recognising innovation in the provision of reasonable adjustments

Disability Confident – Recognising organisations that have supported the government’s disability confident campaign with tangible action

Innovation in assessment – Recognising the impact of alternatives and adjustments to assessments

Supply Chain Management -  A new category open to both employers and agencies who set the standard and measure the success of their entire supply chain to actively recruit disabled talent

Greatest Impact – To be voted on by the judging panel across all categories

Kate Headley, chair of RIDI and key member of The Minister for Disabled People’s Disability Confident Task Force, said, “No matter how small the change you have made – if it has contributed in some way to removing the barriers faced by disabled talent entering or progressing through the job market, we want to hear your story!”

Entries close on 19th September and are free to enter.

The awards are designed to celebrate progress and recognise the success of organisations that are making headway in increasing the inclusion of disabled people.
