Welcome to VERCIDA website.
Skip to main contentToday is the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) and to show our support, we are taking part in #PurpleLightUp, a global movement that celebrates and draws attention to the economic contribution of the 386 million employees living with disability around the world.
In celebration of #PurpleLightUp, many of us at Hays have posed in purple today to show our commitment to greater disability confidence and inclusion.
This year the founders of #PurpleLightUp, our valued partner PurpleSpace, are specifically encouraging 'Leader to Leader' conversations, intended to shine a light on the work of those who are making a significant contribution to cultural change: our employee ED&I networks.
In line with the #LeadertoLeader theme, two of our REACH Network leaders, Jason Buglass and Isobel Grieve spoke to Richard Eardley, Managing Director of Hays Asia Pacific and Chair of our Global ED&I Council about the valuable contribution our employee ED&I networks make in bringing their insights and recommendations to help inform senior leadership decisions. The discussion also focused on why learning directly from employees who live with long term ill health, disability or injury is such a powerful vehicle for positive change.
Our REACH network also used IDPD to host the first of our REACH Community Drop-In sessions. The session, run by the REACH network members, was an opportunity for our employees with long term ill health, disability or injury to come together in a safe space, share their experiences and build lasting connections with others.
Sharing experiences can be valuable because each one of us is unique with a different story to tell. When we celebrate and harness the diversity of the people around us, it leads to people feeling happier, being more productive, better able to flourish and achieve success. One way of understanding and celebrating our differences is by sharing and listening to colleague stories. Today, Isobel Grieve and Jemany Hameed are sharing their #HaysStory about living with long term ill health, disability, or injury and why they're proud to be part of the REACH network.
