BuildOut Together x Parents and Carers
How to support the children and young people in our lives who are LGBTQ+ or questioning their identity - FFLAG Webinar
BuildOut Together and the Parents and Carers Networks are joining forces for Pride month alongside FFLAG to learn from and raise funds for this amazing charity who are focused on supporting the parents and carers of young people who are 'coming out' and the challenges they encounter growing up dealing with bullying, harassment, transphobia/homophobia and prejudice.
BuildOut Together x DisABLED and Allies
Celebrating Pride and Creating Accessible Spaces for LGBTQ+ and Disabled People with George the Dragon
We have partnered with the DisABLED and Allies group to invite George the Dragon (aka AJ Parker), non-binary disabled drag artist, to speak to us about accessibility and to explore the crossover between being disabled and also being LGBTQ+. George won the Disabled and Queer Artist of the Year 2022 and will be delivering the talk in full drag as their character, George the Dragon!
The talk will focus on disabled and LGBTQ+ joy as well as how allies and Wates as a business can adapt the spaces they own and create to full include those with accessibility
Wider than Wates, the stereotypical view of Pride is marching in parades and loud parties in clubs and bars - what does that mean for those who have accessibility needs? What adaptions do we need to make Pride and all spaces fully accessible for all?
