We are working with SignVideo to allow customers to communicate with us using British Sign Language.
At LiveWest we want to make our services accessible to everyone and allow our customers to contact us in a way that suits them.
As we strive to take this approach, we are pleased to announce that we have partnered with SignVideo to provide a Video Relay Service (VRS), so that customers can communicate with us using British Sign Language (BSL).
Team Manager for Learning Disabilities and Agency Managed Schemes, Michael Parsons said “SignVideo is a really important service for LiveWest to use as it enables us to engage with our BSL speaking customers in a way we haven’t been able to in the past.
The SignVideo service allows users to make BSL interpreted video calls via their tablet, smartphone, computer or laptop.
If you or someone you know would like to communicate with us through BSL, simply visit livewest.co.uk on any device and select ‘Accessibility’ in the top right of the webpage, then ‘SignVideo call’. You will be prompted to enter your postcode, allowing us to connect you to the right person. Once you’ve entered your postcode a BSL interpreter will appear in an instant! Alternatively, you can download the SignVideo app and search for LiveWest in the BSL Directory.
Our Head of Customer Services, Sarah Williams said: "We received feedback from some of our customers who told us that they found it difficult to contact LiveWest due to their first language being British Sign Language. We wanted to work with our customers to find a solution to their concerns and to ensure that our services are accessible to everyone. Working with our customers we were able to find the right partner to provide this service and we are happy to be able to work with SignVideo and launch this new service."
